We are pleased to receive the first shipments of Cerillo's special Co-Culture Microplates. Populations (e.g. bacteria, viruses or fungi) are separated by the membrane and are too large to move through it. Substances that they produce/process/absorb can move through the membrane. In this way, the interactions between 2 different populations can be determined and measured, for example: bacterial colony 1 produces substance A that inhibits/boosts/influences the growth of bacterial colony 2 (on the other side of the membrane).
The Co-Culture plates fit on any microplate reader, and has several intriguing features:
- observer and study individual microbial populations in real-time
- measure the growth of one microbial population alongside other populations
- scale experiments more easily with automation compatibility
Cerillo's Co-Culture Duet microplate consists of a frame, 18 duets and a clear cover. Duets can be sold individually or within Cerillo's Discovery-Bundle!
